Crochet Lessons

I am  running three crochet lessons a week at the moment and I have a great bunch of intermediates who wanted to keep coming after their beginner course and I have four more beginners here. Tonight my beginners completed their first granny square and were very excited.

I have found an alternative use for the cake stands that I made a few weeks ago, they now hold yarn 'cakes' from my knitmaster wool winder. One lady bought apple crisps made by slicing them really thinly and drying them in a dehydrator. They were really appley and really crispy!

Loving reading all the yarndale stuff on everyone's blogs.
Wish I wasn't so far away... sigh...

  1. Jo, I'm so glad you are able to have three crochet classes!!! You cake stand is a clever idea to use for displaying your yarn cakes in class :) The apple crisps sound yummy. I am off to crochet some more on the baby cocoon blanket...

  2. Hi Jo so wish I could come to your meetings, would love to meet up with everyone - like you I wish I could have gone to Yarndale, maybe next year. I am impressed with your wool winder, I still have mine in the box waiting to be put to work. A great post as always Jo, thanks so much

  5. I'm teaching a crochet workshop next week, and I might have to take along a cake stand! Brilliant idea! How lucky to teach three times a week, I'll aspire to that! ;) May I ask, how long do your courses run? I'm trying to figure out what format would work best...(feel free to email me rather than posting here!) Thanks for the inspiration! Chrissie x

  6. Well done Jo - you must be doing a great job or your students wouldn't keep coming back for more. Your cake stand looks very nice with the yarn on - another clever idea. My younger daughter dries her fruit in that way - yummy they are too!
    Enjoy your busy week!
    Hugs, Joy xo

  9. I wish I could come to your crochet class! I'm not longer a beginner but there's so much I need advice on so that I can progress to more exciting patterns. Love the way that cake stand holds the yarn. x
