Open Gardens

At the weekend we attended Broseley Open Gardens. Six gardens opened up in our town for visitors and there were many delights. This is a town of old houses and secluded back gardens. I had no idea people had such gardens. The children loved it too asking "Are we going to see another one?" The photos I am proud to say are either taken by me or Big Sis but I can't really tell because we shared her camera because she came out without a memory card so I gave her mine! She learnt to use her "mackerel" (macro, ha ha!) lens on Sunday so she was quite engrossed.

I know she took this one.

 and this one.

Mmmm! Orange blossom.

Happy Gardening. Jo x

  1. All of the photos and the gardens are beautiful!!!! Well done to your daughter for taking such great pictures! I have never been to any open gardens, it is something that I always think I would like to do and never get round to, you have inspired me to see if I can find some to visit! I love the photo of the sculpture, it is a lovely picture and a lovely sculpture too! xx

  5. You both did a great job with your photography....the blue bug [walking stick? dragon fly?] is especially amazing! It is interesting to see what is growing around you, and I imagine the orange blossoms must smell heavenly. I just planted two trailing geraniums in my window box today. The petals have pink and red stripes, a combination I have never seen before. It is so lovely to be able to enjoy the wonderful plants around us at this time of year, isn't it? xx

  6. I really like the idea of open gardens! I don't think mine would be up to the challenge but there are a few nearby that I quite fancy looking in (rather than peeking over the fence).

  8. Dear Jo
Lovely photos - it look like there were some stunning gardens. I love visiting other people's gardens too - it is always a surprise to see what's behind the wall/fence/hedge.
    Best wishes

  14. I couldn't convince anyone else to come on Sunday (and possibly the thought of having to start at the other end of town put them off!!). I'm very jealous though - the gardens look fabulous. I WILL be there next year whether anyone else wants to come or not. And Big Sis has taken some fab pictures with her 'mackerel' lol
