Inside it reads, 'Remove the coaster, make a nice hot cup of tea, sit down and put your feet up for the summer. Thanks for all of your help and hardwork'
I didn't follow the pattern correctly at first so the blue one below is 'wrong' but very right somehow.
The inspiration came from the urge of mine to use up every last bit of something. I had a tiny bit of DK Echo from my jumper to use up. I hate putting scraps like that in my wool stash they sort of niggle at me. So I went into my cotton yarn zippy bag (I know, I have one!) and found some dishcloth yarn and some red patons smoothie left from a school jumper.
The wrapped present is one of the chicken brooch pins from the left hand bar for Big Sis's teacher - she loves a bit of crochet!
I made some more for another time to finish the blue and red yarn with enough cream cotton for a another little project - maybe a jam jar cover, dish cloth, flower brooch, who knows?
Have you been making any gifts lately?
