In my other basket...

In the background of all this preserving, cooking and thrifting, I am slowly making a bit of progress on a big winter knit. I originally posted it here. A sort of collage of a jumper using different yarns and patterns. Right up my street for a bit of free yarn stash busting.

The double moss stitch is really effective and was a breeze but now I am on the lacy part which also requires me to change colour, I won't lie, I have had to unpick a few rows but I think the pattern has sunk in now.

It is just simmering away in the basket for when I want some knitting action without the TV on, usually at about 2.30 in the afternoon when I try and stop and sit for 30 minutes with my own thoughts before I do the school run. Today I took it to the girl's ballet lessons (everyone is used to me making something while watching!)

What will it look like?

This hopefully but with a cream bit on the bottom because although that is not what I would have chosen, I had to go with the yarn amounts I had.

This is what I have been making today.
What are you up to?

  6. Hi Jo this looks lovely - I can remember many many years ago knitting a pattern very similar to this when I was having my first baby - it was called a pram suit then as I had a big Silver Cross pram and he would wear this during his jaunts our - you would knit the whole outfit then - leggings, coat and hat - I thought he looked the bees knees in it so your post brought back so many happy memories for me, thank you so much. Your creation is going to look divine and I can't wait to see the finished garment - a lovely post, especially for me, have a great Sunday Jo
    Lots of love as always
