Drawings from the past

I have been following the developments of a budding artist at Bunny Mummy. She asked to see more of my work on one of her comments but I couldn't think of any that I still owned as I generally give my paintings and drawings as presents. In the past I have painted people houses as wedding presents and on two occasions I have painted peoples houses as charity gifts in promise auctions. (you have to make it quite clear you are not going to 'paint' their house, as in up a ladder!)

Anyway, I was putting away some scrapbook pages and I came across a few sketches that I had put in my scrapbooks of places I had sat and done a quick drawing and I thought it would be good to share them while I am in the midst of a crochet/knit/yarn crisis of not knowing what to do next.

Want to see?

This was a house in France where we stayed and I drew it while sitting by the outdoor pool, then it reminded me that the friend I went on that holiday with also organised a painting day the next year so I set about trying to find another sketch from that day. I found it...

I don't really get the chance to draw and paint much anymore and when I look at these I can hardly believe that it was me who drew them but the posts from Jacquie made me hunt them out. They made me feel really happy. Thanks Jacquie for your blog inspiration. Do pop over and look at her drawing journey at Bunny Mummy.

Have a great weekend... Jo xx

  1. Hi Jo, I love both your pictures. I like the way you add your pen afterwards to define certain parts....I should try this sometime.
These really are colourful and happy, no wonder they make you smile.
Had to laugh at the "house painting" possible misunderstanding :0)
Thank you for sharing and for the lovely things you said about my attempts.
