There are rumblings on a few blogs about sock yarn blankets, much respect to you all but I am a thrill seeker, knitting a blanket in sock yarn leftovers will never be on my list of things to do.
So I just started to crochet my leftovers instead and a pleasing combination of rows appeared before my very eyes. I was surprised with the combination in crochet as opposed to the yarn balls in the first picture. It was better so much better than I thought it was going to be.
I will keep you guessing though because I am not sure what it is going to be yet but I needed something easy to crochet on holiday.
Any nice surprises lately?

ReplyDeleteThe scrap blankets I have seen crocheted have ended up to my mind, much more attractive than the knitted ones.
ReplyDeleteHappy holiday crochet! I have tons of sock wool leftovers if you get carried away and need more :-)
ReplyDeleteJo those colours look good together, can't wait to see it. Jackie
ReplyDeleteOoh look at the colours coming through. Looking forward to the reveal when you are finished xx
ReplyDeleteI love a good scrappy blanket!! Yours is looking great!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree it looks a lot better worked up than in the "before" photo.
ReplyDeleteSometimes its the process rather than the end result that is needed. Excited for the big reveal to see what it becomes.
ReplyDeleteI like it! No surprises here, really, although I do have a new cotton-acrylic blend yarn that has been nice to work with. Cotton is often my least favorite because it makes my hands hurt to crochet with it, but this has been pain-free so far. :)
