Making Pink Trousers

I have used my favourite work trouser pattern, Simplicity K1699, to make another pair of trousers. This time from a remnant of pink chambray I bought for £5.

I have lots of things I can wear with them including my DM sandals.

I put in the best invisible zip ever by using this tutorial from Sew Over it followed by her one on how to finish the bottom of the zip - it is spot on without the little pimple I used to get.

I worked hard on the fit for the hip to waist ratio which I have so much trouble with in ready to wear clothes.

They need one more press down the seams now that the fabric has relaxed a bit. I think these will be great for the not so summery days we are having this Summer here in the UK.

Thanks for looking. Jo x

  4. I have that pattern squirrelled away, I have never used the trouser part. Yours look ace so I better get it dug out, pressed and pinned to some fabric. New trousers have been on the list for far too long.

  5. They certainly are a fabulous fit and at such a bargain price for the fabric.

  6. Very nice, Jo! I think they look great on you. I have trouble with hip to waist ratio because I carry my weight in my belly so the measurements are about the same. If it fits my waist, it's way too big through hips, seat and legs. I think your pants came out really well. Love your shoes too!

  7. Another success from my viewpoint, Jo! I hope you enjoy wearing them. It is rainy and cool here today...good for growing things...maybe, but I am hoping for some more summer sun. :) xx
