About time

We have been feeling of late that our house it looking pretty worn out and some jobs are running away from us. The children are six and four and we are just coming out of the phase where we were either too busy with a baby or a toddler to sort anything or it wasn't worth doing it because of the baby or our toddler!!

Today I am embarrassed to show you these....

Honestly, our kitchen chair covers, they have been washed but then they shrank and then didn't fit properly. I made them with the left overs from my Cath Kidston curtains I made nearly three years ago.

I had these pieces left over from cutting out the quilts so I put them to good use.

Much better, that has really cheered me up today. I have had a day where everything I have tried to do had an obstacle in the way and was not completed so I went to the sewing machine to achieve something.

I have a curtain story to tell you soon but it is still developing so stay tuned.... Jo xx

  1. Ooooh so cute. I'm cushion crazy at the moment. I did a round one yesterday. Not my finest hour The centre bit wasn't quite in the centre when I finished so I shook the cushion about a bit and now it's completely off centre and I can't get it back (without unpicking the whole damn thing). Fed up! xx

  2. They look great, I'm hoping to do something similar for a wicker chair in the kitchen. When time allows of course!

  11. Very pretty, and very satisfying. I hear you about the children and their ages. I'm in the same phase, it does feel 'easier' but there is still a nagging feeling at the back of my head that I want another baby, but then I remember how much easier things are becoming.

  12. Well now Jo they are truly lovely but I must admit I like the CK ones too. Our chair cushions currently refuse to stay on the chairs - all I need to do is reattach the ties but I never seem to get around to it (bad Jane!)Looking forward to the curtains x Jane

  13. That cushion is looking fab. I hate when the little things that need finishing sneer at us cos it knows that you dont have time to fix it. It is so very satisfying to finally getting them done, even it is just a little job..
