For Little Boys

Still stash busting. I started this little collared jacket estimating yarn amounts. I came up short. I predicted however that a one year old wouldn't mind a two tone knit.

We bought him some stretchy jeans and thought it would make a perfect first birthday present.

The rib pattern is ideal for growing with the baby, it stretches on the width. The pattern is from Sirdar Little Sweet peas Design G.

The buttons were from my button jar and were the perfect size and match. A scrap metal skip is arriving at the farm today, my target is 1 tonne.

  1. Love the jacket great idea putting the contrast colour at the top of the sleeve instead of the the wrist. It looks both trendy and contemporary. Not that a one year old would appreciate either of those things but the comfort factor he will. Good job. Good luck with the skip. 1 tonne no problem you can do it Jo.

  2. Clever idea Jo!
You can never go wrong with a blue ribbed cardigan and a pair of jeans :-)
Good luck with filling the skip, take care not to injure yourself. xx

  3. This is lovely! I really like the contrast.

  4. Clever girl! What a good idea to knit the whole thing in rib so that it grows with the baby (although rib drives me a bit nuts). I love everything about it and may have to knit one for my Tom Kitten. I hope you reached the tonne and that you're not aching too much. x

  5. Your design choices are perfect, Jo! It is a handsome gift. I hope you and yours are able to fill the skip with as much as you need to pass along. xx

  6. Such a lovely cardigan and I actually love the two tone. Such a wonderful gift made with love.
