So today my offering is a classic checked wool skirt, lined with an invisible zip. The fabric is from my friend who does house clearance and the satin lining is left over from the wedding waistcoat from White tree fabrics.
The pattern is a Simplicity jiffy vintage one that I have used many times in the past but still holds true today.
I purchased (gulp!) a gorgeous jumper in the Summer Boden sale for £20.00 the week I was left unattended to go with it. I had to make the skirt in order to allow myself to own a mustard coloured jumper.
My Autumn/winter wardrobe is building up nicely which is good because I did ditch quite a lot of old clothes in that big clear out. Jo x
Hi Jo,
ReplyDeleteI love autumn colours and your mustard jumper is gorgeous and goes very well with your skirt.
Mitzi
I love Autumn and Autumnal colours, the mustard jumper is stunning and the skirt a real delight, they go so well together.
ReplyDeleteI love the jersey!! Supercute color!!
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt, you are multi talented and great mustard jumper, it's a perfect match. Deb x
ReplyDeleteGood combination of colours there! With the grey boots you will be very snazzy. Can I be nosy; what tights (colour and thickness) would you wear with this outfit? I picked out a lovely red set this weekend to go with my brown boots, but had no tights that I thought would suit (black was too... black. I really wanted brown ones!)
ReplyDeleteI have all colours, I am the woman of many coloured tights and shoes. Conker brown ones go with lots of kinds of brown and look great with red. I have grey ones but was toying with the idea of mustard ones but am too frightened in case I look like a chicken! Thick ones are best 15 denier upwards. Thanks for dropping by. Jo x
DeleteVery clever and attractive planning, Jo! My mom made me coordinating outfits, an autumnal checked pantsuit, and a mustard gold vest and I had great fun creating different looks mixing the basics with brown slacks and various coordinated shirts. They lasted so well my oldest daughter even wore some of the outfits 25 years later!xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a bargain and your jumper goes so well with your skirt! Lovely checks! Really nice outfit (go for it with the mustard tights!) Sam x
ReplyDeleteThis is a really versatile skirt that will see you through autumn and then be useful in spring and summer. A great stashbust!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely little skirt, going to be so wearable with so many garment that have the same tones, as you have already shown :)
ReplyDeleteSo stylish and classy!
ReplyDeleteYour skirt is lovely and goes really well with the top that you already made and your lovely new jumper too!! xx
ReplyDeleteNow you have done it, I want to make Autumn skirts I will never wear as it will be 80 degrees here in Autumn and I want those boots!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith

Beautiful Jo! The skirt is gorgeous and a perfect partner for the mustard jumper x Jane
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect combo! The colours of the skirt are really lovely (I'm a big fan of mustard). I totally want to hack that jumper and figure out how to knit it! Looks like ribboned stockinette stitch, or something complicated that I once attempted...
