Monday Moments

I have enjoyed a week off work alongside being at home with the girls for a half term holiday so there has been a mix of crafty action and getting out of the house. I made a whole host of things in between being very much needed and very much told to go away by my girlies.

Needed for threading a loom, but told to go away once it was up and running.

Needed to find out how oil paints work, but told to go away once painting had started.

We enjoyed some lovely mild weather at the beginning of the week but then had to change our horse riding plans on the day of storm Doris.

There was playing with friends outside ,

with sorting and organising inside.

I made this notions case to sort out my knotted up knitting bag.

I also cracked on with a bit of stripy knitting with my latest stash busting project.

I hope you all have a fruitful week.
What is seasonally happening by you?
Jo xx

  1. It's a refreshing change for someone to show items they have without constant sponsored links to them, but for once I want to know where you got them from! Do you remember where you got the loom and easel stand from, I'd love to get them for my little ones x

    1. I couldn't link back to you Claire, so i hope you come back... the loom is by Melissa and Doug. My mum bought it from Hobbycraft for her birthday. Megan is 7, left handed and she finds it easy to use.

  3. This sounds just like the perfect break Jo. Love a bit of sorting and pottering. I am guessing these wool remnants are from your gorgeous Nordic jumper? x

  4. Well it's absolutely chucking down here. So not a lot going off. Out to see a friend this afternoon. Knitting on my silver grey bolero. Love to see the girls crafting. The notions organiser is a great idea and very handy. I have a great knitting bag but it has so many pockets I keep loosing items in the bottom of it.

  5. They look so engrossed in their hobbies. Lovely snowdrop display too. We went to Kingston Lacy on Tuesday when it was so mild and beautiful and their snowdrop and daffodils were absolutely breathtaking. It's only taken about 10 years of talking about going to get me there but was well worth it. Ah well, back to a rainy day today, only any good for housework (soon over) and sewing. 😀

  6. I love that your girls love to make things as much as you do. Your week sounds perfect, the best mix of staying in and heading out. Hope this week is wonderful for you.

  7. Lily my eldest Grandaughter would love the loom, I notice it was a Melissa and Doug one so should be easy to find. I like to fill their days when they visit so always handy to get some ideas. A joy to see the chalk on the path.

  8. You had such a nice week at home with the girls. The loom looks like fun. I received a small lap loom for my birthday back in November and I haven't had much time with it yet but I'm really itching for a day to just sit and figure the thing out. There's never enough time for serious craft immersion. :)

  9. What a bust busy week you've all had. I love the needed, not needed you describe. That's just how it is and we wouldn't have it any other way!
My daughter has not long finished uni and shared a house with 2 textile students who are both weavers, they make the most amazing things so you never know where this craft interest will take them.
Hope Doris didn't cause too much damage down your way. I'm so pleased you were able to join us at #HandmadeMonday this week.

  12. Your half term sounds like a nice balance of inside and outside with lots of creative pottering. Lovely to see your girls enjoying crafts so much. My two aren't so keen lately, but baking and reading are both much enjoyed so I am trying not to mind too much.
