I go to a craft group once a month at Kemberton, the girls are welcome too which they really enjoy. I taught a card making class on Saturday. This folded flower is so easy for new people to do but so effective. You can find out how to do it here.
I also took my quilt to sandwich because the group is held in a village hall so I thought the space would be ideal and people didn't seem to mind my bum stuck up in the air!
50 safety pins later, with a little help from my minions, I have it all clamped together. Now starts the process of hand quilting it all together. Keep you posted.
Happy making folks. Jo xx
That quilt looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWe need a craft group like yours here! I am hand quilting my quilt at the moment and I am loving it, one stitch at the time. Did you hand piece yours? I am not sure but I think I can see dainty little stitches (should go looking for my reading glasses). The quilt top looks fabulous. x
ReplyDeleteNow that is an impressive looking quilt top. There is a lot to be said for the satisfaction that you get from hand quilting. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your quilt is looking so lovely, and that looks like an ideal venue too. Whenever I try to baste a quilt on the floor, I have to shut the dogs out and they just stand on the other side of the door and whine!
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely too :-) xx
Beautiful quilt, hand quilting sounds fun a long project ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothering! Thanks for the link to making the clever card, and for letting us see the next stage of your lovely quilt, Jo. Exciting and inspiring! :) xx
ReplyDeleteWow the quilt looks amazing, and the card is just so pretty, I'm off to check out how to make one

What a great time you had! The card is lovely, and your quilt is looking really great isn't it! xx
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is coming on lovely. The girls look absorbed in it too. Thank you for the link to the cowl pattern . Yours is really nice (and those buttons.) I'm about halfway through mine and I know I'll be making another. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI have made another one too posting this week some time when I get the right buttons on it. It is a fun make.
DeleteWow Jo, your quilt looks amazing - so colourful. What a great idea to spread it on the smooth flat surface of the village hall for pinning together. Have fun with the hand quilting. It was the bit I most enjoyed when I made my first quilt and I'm looking forward to doing it again with my second. 15 minute bursts spread over about three months was my method and it saved my finger tips too.
ReplyDeleteIf you were wearing the jeans you made they were probably in awe of your bum in the air!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
