What did you make it out of? It took one skein of Katia Tupa DK.
Where are those wonderful buttons from? My fab friend Mary for my birthday.
What does the back look like? It rolls over and keeps your neck warm.
But I am a beginner at crochet, could I make it? Yes of course it is actually a big rectangle which I decided to edge with two rows of Doublet crochet.
What if I want mine to be more chunky? Fine, make it wider or with thicker wool. You could even crochet two strands of DK together. I was limited by my one skein of left overs.
How long did it take? I wound the yarn cake one night along with the foundation chain and crocheted it the next night.
What does it look like when you wear it? Like this and it makes me happy.
How does a rectangle look so complicated? I don't have the answer to that question, it amazed me!
Will you make another one? It's on the hook my friends.
Thanks for looking. Jo x

You have surely done justice to those gorgeous buttons. How well they have been showcased - the colour match is just so nice. I love the idea and may be pinching it. The trick is in the placement of the buttons I think and having a lacy stitch pattern so they pull through without the need for shenanigans like button holes. Very pretty and comfy too.
ReplyDeleteLovely. May ask my mum to make one for me! Cheating I know but I have not mastered it. Yet!!!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty love the buttons x
ReplyDeleteLove it xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThe link to the pattern didn't work. I googled Alice Cowl but had no result. Is this on Ravelry? It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Sooz, hope you come back to find the answer. I have re done the link and it is working now. The pattern is on Ravelry and the link goes to it. Good Luck!
DeleteThanks Jo :-)
DeleteIt's a lovely cowl, Jo. I think those buttons are perfect on it. Thanks for sharing more about how you made it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great cowl, Jo - the colour, the pattern, the simplicity of it all - and I like the idea of anything that can be made in a couple of nights. It takes me more like a couple of months to do anything round here. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is so classy, Jo! Thanks for the link to the pattern. Hope you are well and having a happy week. xx
ReplyDeleteWell done Jo! Great cowl.
