I went for half hexagons along the deeply pocketed edge and was happy with the zig zag edge on the other side after checking out some of the links you ladies pointed me towards(all very helpful, thank you).
I did a few rows of double crochet and a row of purple trebles to make a thick border, as much as left over yarn amounts would dictate.
It is fine, I enjoyed it, I sort of wish it was a bit bigger but it looks great over the back of my sofa. Little M likes it and wants it to watch TV under so it has become her blanket.
So just blocking and a few (hundred) ends to darn in. Off to a little animal farm called Rays Farm today with Little M and her friend. Lovely weather for looking at smelly goats!!
Morning Jo this is just gorgeous, love it. I really want to make a blanket as soon as I can and a bag - I love the colours you have chosen as they would suit any season and I think Little M is going to make a lot of use of this summer and winter. Well done Jo you did a fabulous job of it. Enjoy your day, don't get too hot - unfortunately I will be stuck in work - would rather be out at the farm.

Oh well done Jo - all finished eh! I like both styles of edging that you've used - it's very pretty indeed! I haven't decided yet how to finish mine but I guess there's a bit of time yet as I have some catching up to do with it! Can't be everywhere doing everything, can we!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your visit to the farm with the girls - perhaps not ideal when the weather is hot but never mind, I'm sure it'll be fun for all!

Thank you again for your beautiful message on my post - I can't begin tell you how much I appreciate it. xo
That is beautiful! I really like the colors. I wish I had the patience to finish a whole blanket. You are inspiring!
ReplyDeleteit is beautiful Jo!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is beautiful. I love all the colours you used and I also admire you for weaving in all those ends!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteStunning blanket! The colours are so gorgeous, and I love the pattern...they can put a man on the moon, but they can't come up with a tool to weave in ends. Outrageous! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous, Jo! I love the colors. You did such a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteStunning!!!
ReplyDeleteOoohh! The hexagon blanket is stunning. I have long looked at hexagons and ahhhed and oohed and your blanket certainly has me ahhing and oohing! I feel a blanket to add to my to do list coming on! X
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blanket it really is. We used to have a 'sick blanket' when we we were growing up but it was an old yellow threadbare blanket and not colourful and pretty like this one!
