Hooray! felted bag

After playing around with the denim bag last week, I made another bag last week and forgot to post it.

It is made from a recycled wool jumper and the lining is made from an old shirt used also to make the flower and belt here.

The flowers are needle felted. A little kit I received a few Christmas' ago. I don't do much of this but it is so quick and gives an instant crafty fix.

I used the sewing machine to sew it together and I love working with recycled felt because it does not fray and holds it shape well for a bag.

Been to see my massively pregnant friend today who is struggling to stay cool - she has 5 weeks to go and is pretty hacked off with the whole thing right now! Little M was excited because she has a 17 month toddler already and we just sat in the shade, chatted, drank juice and watched the little ones play.

  5. Hi Jo this is so sweet and how lovely to have upcycled other things - I am always on the lookout for pure wool sweaters in thrift shops but have never found any sadly, I do love making bags as you have probably guessed from my blog! I did buy a needle felting kit at a fair earlier this year but haven't tried it yet, seeing your gorgeous flowers has made me rethink - oh I wish I had more time in my life to devote myself to the things I want to do. I love your blog Jo, thanks for another great post.
    Lots of love

  6. Sounds like a perfect afternoon. I love your bag - I crocheted one but never managed handles so it now holds my overspilling crochet projects! Yours is stunning x
