Psst! pass it on

I lured the children to the park at the weekend but secretly I knew there was an antique/junk/vintage shop next to it so I could squeeze in a little look around. I saw these little bits of old linen for 50p each. I had an instant idea as soon as I saw them.


The green one looks like it has been cut out of a table cloth. I also bought a ceramic rolling pin that will make you swoon and a 'billi' can for making hot chocolate at the cabin.

We played in the park as promised - you know I am not a monster!


She loves that denim dress I made for her.


 When we got home I went straight to my sewing box to open a bargain pack of cute iron on motifs which I bought for £1.95 at the dotcomgiftshop.com (they are not in the half price sale now but still there and still cute!)


Now ain't dat a pretty little thing?

I used the stretch stitch on my machine to sew it onto a t-shirt for Little M.


Here is the other one I did for Big Sis on her t-shirt.

Gillian's T-shirts at Tales from a happy house made me think of this idea so thank you for the inspiration. Pssst! pass it on, as they say...

    You are so imaginative! I see things like this all the time and admire them, but have no idea what use I would put them to. Now I know!! I can applique all sorts of clothes for the little people. Brilliant x

    Stunning, such a great idea I have all sorts of bits and bobs I am going to look for some long sleeve T shirts for the girls next time I am out. LOVE the rolling pin, I have rolling pin envy.

    Love the tshirts, even better that there was a bit or recycling involved too, it's nice to give things a new lease of life. My daughter loves horses, so I got a blue jumper and appliquéd on a big heart shape made from some horsey fabric I had - she loved it!

    They're lovely! A fun was to mix vintage and modern and individualise things too. But never mind the patches - THAT ROLLING PIN!! Be still my beating heart. It's fabulous, what a joyful thing to find and have in your kitchen. The enamel billy can is great too, I'd use that for heating milk or melting small amounts of things like butter or chocolate on the hob. xx
