Elise Number 4

Here is my fourth Elise shawl. Pattern can be found on Ravelry.

It is a present so I can't say too much but it is for someone I know who really likes brown.

It is made on a 2.5 mm hook with a yarn which I can not name. It was given to me wound on old toilet roll tubes. It is definitely laceweight and thinner than a tapestry needle in places so it makes for a very fluid finished fabric.

This shawl always benefits from a good blocking to reveal the open pattern work. Once you get the triangle going it is such an easy scarf to make if you can follow a chart.

Are you still making presents or have you finished?
Thanks for looking Jo xx

  1. It looks beautiful and I truly love the colour. I have finished all my presents and wrapping, just some baking left to do which hopefully will happen on Sunday ready for the freezer.

  2. It is lovely! It looks like its thin enough to have a lot of "swish", but still snuggly! Which is the best kind of shawl to have!
I wish I were done with presents, ha! Everything that needed to be bought has been, but I have a blanket that still needs to be finished up!

  3. I have to say that sadly I haven't made any presents this year :( Your shawl is beautiful though and I am sure that the recipient will love it a great deal. I still have to wrap parcels and we are waiting for some mail order items to arrive, but I am done with shopping for gifts at least, just the rest of the food to get and then it is all done! Yay! I hope that you get everything done and sorted very soon and that you can enjoy Christmas a lot! xx

  7. I love the colour of the shawl, I bet is lovely and cosy too! I was sadly lacking this year on the hand made front so have had to buy from craft stalls instead. I hope to rectify that next year! Enjoy the rest of your weekend xx
