Yay! for my girl

Seriously, please cheer 'hooray' for my girl. She has spent two years making this embroidery hoop which she received as a Christmas present. Isn't it amazing?

She really wanted to learn all of the new stitches: french knots, lazy daisy stitch, chain stitch, star stitch, stem stitch and those little buttonhole stitches in the bottom left hand corner. The only part I did was most of the stem stitch swirls to get her motivated to decorate them. She is 12 and I am so proud of her endeavour. The kit is from a French company called Un chat dans l'aiguille. It was given to her by my late dad and his wife, Chantal, who is french. The designs on the website are divine - just look even if you don't want one!

Megan had one too so it is time to teach another girl all of the stitches all over again! I can't think of a better thing to do in lock down can you?

Love Jo xxx

  5. Hello! I popped over from sustainablemum and am enjoying having a read! Your daughters stitching is gorgeous and brings back memories of teaching my children how to embroider. And I'm completely amazed at your beautifully made underwear!! I can sew well but sewing bras and undies is next level! Go you!

  7. She is a wee star! But you know that already of course. If only my children were interested in creative crafts... my boys tried to crochet but it is a bit of a drama because both think skills are inherited and not learned.... I hope your toe is less painful today xx

  11. The embroidery is beautifully done -irrespective of age. Your daughter has created something lovely to be proud of. I hope she enjoyed doing it and is encouraged to keep on making lovely things. Pretty things lift our hearts, what is more useful than that? Especially at times like these. I hope she has fun with stitching, it's something I love to do too.
