February...ing

Wearing - My new slinky trousers from Minerva fabric using a style arc pattern. Perfect for lounging, yoga or dog walking.

Eating - Coconut dahl and homemade naan breads.

Baking - Lemon drizzle cake.

Loving - A walk out with our woolly hats.

Knitting - The sleeves for my Loki sweater but knowing I will run out of yarn. :(

Growing - snowdrops in our garden and admiring others people's.

Reading - my new rough guide to Switzerland because we are going there for our summer holiday.

Tiling - the new house bathroom. Grouting next.

Finishing - the utility at the new house complete with a coat rack we made for a fiver.

Admiring - more farm view sunsets by looking both towards the sun and at the reflection in our windows shining back.

Watching - Storm Ciara through the big windows. Our girls were squealing and giggling as each gust of rain hit the glass but they stayed dry.

Going - to the osteopath to try and sort out tendonitis in my groin. I can't sit crossed legged on the floor or with my legs crossed while sitting on the sofa. Ouch!

Collecting - This pattern which was a steal for £2 in an antique shop.

Sewing - some solid colours for a change. This stretch denim is excellent for the Ness skirt by Tilly and the Buttons.

Trying  - To photograph the moon and a bright shining planet.

Feeling - Life is a getting a bit hectic again.

Thanks for dropping by. Jo xxxxx

  1. Switzerland is out, out, out, out, out of this world expensive says this kiwi. We're back from an amazing trip 6 weeks ago as my brother lives there. Out mouths dropped at the cost of most things... and you just close your eyes and pay in the end. Dinner out for 5 people for an ordinary indian curry was around $NZ250 - at home $80... recommend buying up large at a Co-op or Migros etc. And hiring a car was way cheaper than catching local buses! Having a "half card" saves A LOT of money which we didn't know and never got one (not even sure how you get one!) . However is stunning scenery! Lots of walking etc and it's really not a large country to drive all over once there.

    1. Thanks Kim, I have bought two Swiss travel passes to enable us to have free public transport. Our children can travel free with two adult tickets. I did a big spreadsheet about about it (much to the amusement of my husband) and it was definitely cheaper when I planned out what we wanted to do and costed how to get there.

  2. Storm Ciara is wreaking havoc here still and, like your girls, I love sitting in the back room crocheting as the rain lashes against the window. Alas the trike shed is done for :( When the storm dies down I think we'll have to dismantle what's left of take it to the tip. We keep getting tantalising spots of sunshine for a few minutes, then it's gone in another rain storm. I love that pattern! The dress on the far right with the long sleeves; now that is definitely me. Best, Jane x

  3. Switzerland is such a wonderful country to visit, I must admit to feeling a tad envious. We have no plans in place as yet as we have just cancelled another break away. Hopefully things will have improved by the summer. Your beautiful home is coming along in leaps and bounds. Loved to see the girls watching the storm it seems that we have been doing the same for days.

  4. Hope you get some relief with the tendonitis - that must be very annoying. Switzerland though!! Very exciting.

  5. As claimed by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh on average 19 KG less than us.

(And really, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with genetics or some hard exercise and really, EVERYTHING related to "HOW" they eat.)

P.S, I said "HOW", and not "what"...
