Autumn Wander Crochet Shawl #2

I have slowly made another shawl from sock yarn left overs.

The edging is made with a single row of double crochet (sc) all around and then a row of: *miss two dc: 5ch, bead, 5ch, 3dc * repeat. There are 47 rows on the shawl and 58 beads. The beads help it to stay put when you wear it because it weighs the edge down.

The colour palette has quite a lot of blue which should go with the recipients coat perfectly.

The blocking gave it a perfect triangular shape.

You can find the pattern here if you fancy using up some yarn left overs. You can use any gauge yarn as long as it is the same throughout.

This photo, on a brighter day, might give you a better idea of the colour range.

This is a very special gift for a very special someone.
Thanks for dropping by. Jo xx

  4. I found a package in my porch yesterday and it contained this gorgeous shawl. I am so pleased to be that special someone Jo. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are such a lovely friend. I have been wearing the shawl all weekend, inside and outside. The shawl and my duffle coat are like a match made in heaven. Off to wipe a wee tear of my face. Lots of love. xxx

    1. You deserve it, anyone who has been without a kitchen and kept family life glued together deserves a special something. Also, only you would send a complete stranger a bag of beautiful sock yarn ends in the post so that the said stranger could complete their own shawl. We are no longer strangers, we are now friends. Love Jo x

  11. Hi Jo, your shawl is gorgeous! Wow, I love those colors. The beads look beautiful too. My mother-in-law is a weaver and she often incorporates beads into her work. I've always admired the look. Nice job and a lovely gift.

  12. It's another beauty, Jo. Those beads are perfect. I hanker after something like this but know that I couldn't pull off the wearing of it. Except at home, in the glamour of my nightie, where nobody would see me. Happy weekend. x
