I have a pre-holiday post for you that I didn't get round to photographing and posting before we went. (in case you think I packed my sewing machine to go on holiday!)
It is a shift dress from a vintage pattern Butterick 3598. Really quick, simple and enjoyable to make. It does what it says on the packet 'EXTRA quick 'n' easy'
The fabric was sent to me by myfabrics.co.uk from their new range of patterned cotton called Tula. It is really good quality. I went for the geometric print to compliment the 60's shift style.
I am finally learning how to ease in a sleeve to avoid having puffed up shoulders - the key is to use lots of pins - I mean lots and lots. I followed a few tips from Did you make that? Karen gave some good advice and so did her followers.
I am wearing it with my crochet necklace. You can find links to the pattern here.
Me, me, me ......
I am going to wear it to work on Tuesday but there are lots more post holiday jobs to do before then. Mountains of washing, allotment picking and gardening.
I'm off to check out your blogs lovely people. Have I missed
anything super-inspiring?
I am linking this dress in with my Vintage pledge 2015

Stunning, you have such a talent. Shame the weather was not good for your holiday, it is putting the dampener on so many peoples holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is so pretty, and it goes perfectly with your necklace. I'm glad you had a nice relaxing holiday too; it's good to get away. And no cooking? bliss! :)
