I got a hole in my finger hand sewing.
They look pretty.
I don't know why I thought going to the massive effort to make them would mean that they wouldn't slip off the backs of my feet - which they did.
So I took the backs off and now I have new slippers. I'm happy now!

your slippers look great!!:)
ReplyDeleteYou have the prettiest slippers around now! Love the little pom pom trim.
ReplyDeleteLove that photo with all the pins, it's like a voodoo espadrille. They always fall off the back of my feet too (why !?????!) but well done on slipper conversion :)

Such a great idea, they really are a great pair of slipper. I can't wear them either, they either rub at the back if I go down a size or fall off.
ReplyDeleteGood thinking! I never have luck wearing espadrilles. I remember when I was a teenager, a lot of people were wearing the kind with long ribbons that laced up the ankle. I looked like an elephant in them. :P
ReplyDeleteWell those really are the prettiest slippers I ever did see! My large feet don't seem to have any trouble keeping espadrilles on, but I must say I do like the idea of converting them to slippers as they are not the most practical of outdoor shoes for rainy summer days! Love the Pom-pops too 😊 xx

ReplyDeleteLook at you with your brilliant pillow and wonderful slippers. I am thinking, (the non sewer that I am) if you put a wee bit of elastic in the back at the top of the heel if that would help keep them on your feet?

Hi Jo! I am back from my galavanting and am finally catching up on your news. While I am glad that Little M's thumb is on the mend, I am so sorry the accident happened...such a hard part of parenting, isn't it. Belatedly, Happy Birthday to Heidi! I am so excited she is enjoying learning to crochet, and her T-shirt dress is brilliant! The dollhouse I grew up with was my sister's and resides with her now, but was made out of a sort of particle board and filled with plastic furniture...even though it was made over sixty years ago. The houses your girls have are so lovely, and the lighting is so helpful, however it is done...without wires? It is wonderful that they are making things to furnish them as well as shopping for the items that are their personal choices. How clever you are to teach the girls how to tickle/catch fish, too. [I like your proverb, too :) ] Your slippers, dress, collar and pillow are terrific projects as well. I'm glad that your holiday was pleasant. Mine was, too. I have been making progress on a crocheted shawl and a little knit baby blanket. Today the smoke from the Pacific Northwest wildfires has blown away from our area so that it does not smell like we have a campfire just outside our front door! I am praying for rain and for safety for those who are on the fire front! Blessings to you and yours, xx
ReplyDeleteEspadrilles always fall off my feet too! I think that your idea to make them into slippers is much better!!! They look great, I love the bobbles! xx
ReplyDeleteThese slippers look gorgeous, I like the pompom trim! Viola
