Be mine

I work on Thursdays so only time for a quick everyday make today- it was a little Valentines card for my darling man. Spots were the theme from the background paper, to the ribbon to the frame shapes.

Hope there is some love near you all today in one way, shape or form. XXX

Tuneful

Today and last night I made a recorder case for 'Big Sis' she is sister to 'Little M', she is five and has wanted to join recorder club for quite some time. The case that came with the recorder broke in the first five minutes so here is a woolly wonder made from bits if cotton DK including the red from her school cardigan (Patons Smoothie) I love this yarn, I will muse about that later so here it is...

I did take pictures as I went along so maybe I can write a simple little tutorial with hook size and stitch counts on.

So lots more of that lovely tuneful practise to come then... AAAGHH!

Winter Jumper

It is not many days you can say that you knit a jumper in one evening and then sewed it up in the morning...

but Barbie really appreciated this roll neck sweater this morning when we woke up to a sprinkling of slushy snow. My youngest daughter, Little M has now asked for a pair of leggings to match...mmmm! will have to be woolley ones. There are loads of free patterns here if you want a quick knit for your little one over 900 infact.

We came in because she said Barbie was getting cold feet and in truth so was I so we had hot chocolate and chose some more clothes from the website.

Happy Monday.

Fresher

My first post on a brand new blog that I have been promising myself I will do for so long. I make something everyday: baking, cooking, a card, a scrapbook page, knitting, sewing or recycling something or other. Sometimes I make people laugh and somedays I don't but it is all part of what I do everyday

Today I finished quite a few 'works in progress' (WIPS). Some were more successful than others. I finished a little patch/scrap work cushion...

The first cushion is from the kit that comes with the book
Cath Kidston 'Patch'that my lovely friend bought me for my birthday and the second one is the one I completed today by not throwing away a single scrap of the free fabric.

The lighting is apalling but what did I expect starting my first ever blog post at 8pm in the evening and realising I had not taken any photos...
Now the next project is a bit more scary.....

It is a blooming flower cushion from the brilliant blog attic 24 However, I don't think I did it justice in the pink palette. I did it solely to use up a stash bundle of baby wool somebody gave me but it is either really kitsch or really foul and I can't decide which!! It can live in our house on the spare bed for a while until I make a final decision.

So thanks for looking at my first ever post. You can find more out about me and what I do by tuning in another day.

Have a good weekend xxx
