Little project for hot days

So it has been hot right? not the sort of weather for having anything yarny on your lap or sitting inside on the sewing machine so on Tuesday after the children went to bed I sat in the garden and made this keyring as a leaving present for an inspirational colleague who is leaving our Family Learning team at work. Sad.

It is two yo yo's joined together with a self covered button on the front and a normal button on the back. A little bit of patterned ribbon and hey presto! a beautiful homemade present.

Then I sat back and admired the anemones for a while.

They would make great teacher leaving presents - if it is not too late...

Enjoy the sunshine! Jo xxx

  1. A lovely gift, Jo, and I so admire your anemones, too! I have never grown them, just bought some cut ones once. We had a very informal picnic out beside the girls' wading pools the other night and were so thankful for the breeze that cooled us since we are having a very unusual long stretch of hot weather here. Wishing you a yours more happy sunny days. :) xx

  2. I love your gift - such bright colors and so beautifully made. The flowers in your garden are just beautiful. How lovely to be able to sit outdoors crafting and enjoying such a beautiful view.

  3. Definitely a lovely leaving present, must bookmark this page for next summer. I spent most of the hot day at the sewing machine.... the dining room (where I sew) is the coolest room, particularly with the French doors open. Just a hem to go, once I decided how short is too short for a 45 year old with knobbly knees. Have a lovely weekend. x

    1. I sewed straight through, it had a hoop on the back. I sewed both buttons on at the same time. x
