I got this little box from the hall, dusted it (nearly), emptied it of candles and decopatched the top. The lid swivels to reveal a little hiding place for pens, notepads, barbie shoes, badges, hand written notes, stickers, party bag crap gifts etc.
She is thrilled with it and it was done in an hour. I was thinking of painting it but her chest of drawers is an old 1940's pine set so it looked fine.
Thanks for stopping by and always leaving such wonderful comments.
Could I tempt you with a little look at my friends blog? she is a fellow yarn tangler who makes beautiful things. She is a very wonderful and giggly friend too!

Love Jo x
Another practical and pretty make, Jo, and just the place to "bury treasure" :) I did a sort of decoupage on a little clear pitcher at my art group yesterday. We layered color and paint and gold leaf and cheese cloth and stickers and torn tissue paper/decorative napkins. I added some bead dangles on the handle and still want to make a cork stopper and tie on some thread/yarn around the neck...totally impractical but fun and pretty :) I enjoyed catching up on your posts since Jan. 9th and appreciate the patterns you shared in some and the humor you shared as well. :)xx

ReplyDeleteHow great that she will have somewhere to store all of her treasures safely and out of your way! You did a lovely job on this Jo! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's really cute, Jo. I think it will work out great in her room for her little treasures. Their collections grow quickly, don't they?
ReplyDeleteThat's just perfect! And I love the pretty decopatch paper you used too. I'm spending an hour (or so!) catching up with blog reading today so I'm off to visit your friend over at her blog now too.
