I shouldn't make any more clothes but it's always nice to know when a pattern works out well, and importantly doesn't have fastenings! :DNicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13353106307941425383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5225566259581748208.post-52063100291926674012013-07-30T15:53:45.853+01:002013-07-30T15:53:45.853+01:00You are absolutely adorable. But I will check out my instruction book - I have heard of a walking foot and I had lots free with the machine so I guess it is in there somewhere so will be trying your tips. Hope the holidays are treating you kindly! It might help with different thicknesses to try one of the following (if they're available on your machine) (a) adjust the pressure of your foot - some machines let you adjust this to cope with different thicknesses of fabric (b) see if your machine has the option for a 'walking foot'. It always the fabric to feed through top and bottom. They're not always particularly keep though.
Failing that trimming your seam allowances right down or even grading them can help to reduce the bulk.
Funnily - I seem to have my mind of autumn/winter sewing too!Louise - There She Sewshttp://thereshesews.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5225566259581748208.post-16223067717726233642013-07-29T00:25:38.598+01:002013-07-29T00:25:38.598+01:00You did a great job with it Jo and you look lovely...You did a great job with it Jo and you look lovely in it! Jo you are a real inspiration with your energy and your humour. Your tunic will serve you well in the coming months and years as it will be such a versatile option - I would love one in a rich velvet around Christmas time. When I get a little more experienced with sewing would love to have a go at this but I doubt I would manage the pattern very well unfortunately.
A wonderful post Jo - a big personal thanks for helping me with my blog, what would I do without you.
Have a wonderful week ahead
Lots of love
Dorothy
:-)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01578046964126611388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5225566259581748208.post-34064006670793407442013-07-28T17:46:49.197+01:002013-07-28T17:46:49.197+01:00That is fabulous!
