My dad grew that type of lettuce and I had salad cream on it with homegrown tomatoes from the greenhouse and homegrown cucumbers and pickled beetroot - you have brought it all back. Lovely flowers. My sweetpeas are over, but there are cosmos and dahlias now and a lone zinnia that I saved from the snails. I have discovered that the little chocolate cosmos is a favourite with bees which has made me happy.
